1. What is the purpose of this research?
This research project explores awareness, usage, and expectations regarding GDPR compliance, data transparency, and digital tools (operating systems, office software, and security applications). The goal is to collect insights from everyday users, advanced users, and organizations to support academic research and the development of more ethical, sustainable, and privacy-respecting solutions.
2. Who is conducting this research?
The survey is organized in collaboration with the European Institute of Management & Technology (EIMT), Switzerland. The study is independent, academic, and non-commercial in nature.
3. Is the survey anonymous?
Yes. All surveys are anonymous. We do not collect names, IP addresses, or personal identifiers unless you voluntarily provide an email address for reward distribution.
4. Legal Reason for Processing
Providing your email address is optional and only needed if:
- You wish to participate in the lottery reward (Windows 11 Pro license keys).
- You request support or follow-up regarding your survey submission.
Emails are stored securely for a maximum of 3 months and then deleted in compliance with GDPR.
5. What are the survey rewards?
When starting the survey, please carefully read the details about the reward for the Microsoft Windows 11 Pro license. Winners will be notified via the email provided.
6. How will my data be used?
Your answers will be analyzed in aggregate form for academic research purposes only. Results may be included in reports, research papers, or educational publications, but no personally identifiable data will ever be shared or published.
7. How long does the survey take?
- Short version (Everyday Users): approx. 10-12 minutes.
- Extended version (Advanced Users): approx. 20 minutes
- Institutional version (Organizations, NGOs, Governments): approx. 20–25 minutes
8. Can I withdraw from the survey?
Yes. Participation is voluntary. You may stop at any point and your incomplete data will not be used in the analysis.
9. Are the surveys available in multiple languages?
Yes. Surveys are distributed in 10–12 major languages, including English, German, French, Dutch, Spanish, Arabic, and others. You can select your preferred language from the website.
10. How do I know this research is GDPR-compliant?
- No tracking cookies or hidden data collection.
- Email addresses (if provided) are stored securely and only for the purpose stated.
- All survey responses are anonymous and aggregated.
